TONIGHT'S GAMES
Round Rock concludes its penultimate home stand Tuesday with the finale of a four-game series against the Oklahoma City RedHawks (Texas Rangers). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CDT at The Dell Diamond. This is the the last of four series between Round Rock and Oklahoma City. The Express (54-76) are 5-5 in their last 10 games but have lost three straight. The RedHawks (68-59) are 7-3 in their last 10 games, winning six of their last seven. Round Rock is 34-33 at home; the Express' current five-game losing streak at home is their longest of the season. Oklahoma City is 32-33 on the road. The Express enter Tuesday's game fourth in the PCL American Southern Division, 16 games behind division-leader Oklahoma City.

EXPRESS-REDHAWKS SERIES
Round Rock is 41-53 all-time against Oklahoma City, including a 19-27 mark at The Dell Diamond. The RedHawks have won eight straight. The final game of the 2007 season series was cancelled due to inclement weather. The RedHawks lead this year's series 13-2, winning seven of eight meetings in Oklahoma City and three of four in their first trip to Round Rock last month. Six of the last seven games have been decided by two or fewer runs. The teams split last season's series with the Express winning five of eight at The Dell Diamond. Round Rock won the 2005 and 2006 season series, winning 10 of 16 meetings each year.

LOCKE NAMED PCL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Drew Locke was named PCL Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday. Locke hit .500 (11-for-22) in games Aug. 16-22; he also had two home runs, seven RBI, five doubles and a stolen base. Locke drew eight walks against only one strikeout in the seven games and scored at least one run in each game. He is the second Express player so honored this season, joining Chris Johnson (May 24).
HAWKS FEAST ON EXPRESS
Oklahoma City is 13-2 this season against Round Rock and 58-59 against the rest of the league. If the Express were one-game under .500 against the RedHawks (7-8), Oklahoma City would be only one-half game ahead of Albuquerque in the PCL American Southern Division standings. Instead, the RedHawks have a five-and-a-half-game lead on the Isotopes.
SOLID STARTS
Express starters own a 3.49 ERA (27 earned runs, 69.2 innings) over the last 11 games, allowing no runs in four of the 11 starts. Round Rock starters enjoyed a streak of 21.0 consecutive scoreless innings during that time and have allowed 11 earned runs over their last 48.1 innings (2.05 ERA). Josh Banks suffered the loss Sunday against Oklahoma City despite a quality start (7.0 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER). That was the first loss by an Express starter since Jordan Lyles wore the collar in his first career Triple-A start Aug. 10 against Sacramento.
ONE-RUN RUN-AROUND
Round Rock suffered its 29th one-run losses this season, most in the PCL. In fact, the Express have lost more one-run games than Las Vegas has played (23). In all, Round Rock has played 42 one-run games, tied with Omaha for second in the league behind only Portland (45).
BOGUSEVIC, LOCKE CLIMB EXPRESS CHARTS
Brian Bogusevic and Drew Locke are climbing several Express single-season statistical charts (Triple-A era). Through games of Aug. 23, Bogusevic is second in runs (90), tied for first in walks (63), tied for fifth in stolen bases (22) and second in stolen base percentage (.957). His stolen base percentage ranks first among players with at least 20 attempts. Meanwhile, Locke is fifth in doubles (34), seventh in RBI (73), seventh in extra-base hits (55) and tied for seventh in total bases (218).
EXTRA, EXTRA, EXTRA
Round Rock has played 15 extra-inning games, tied for second most in the PCL this season. The Express are 5-10 in those games but 3-3 on the road. Round Rock has played six games of at least 12 innings and three 14-inning affairs. In fact, the Express have played 36 extra innings, the equivalent of four games.
TEAM QUICK NOTES
Round Rock's five-game losing streak at The Dell Diamond is its longest of the season. The Express had lost three straight home games on two occasions prior to this skid. ... Round Rock is 33-42 following a loss, going 20-14 in such situations at home. The Express are 15-26 following consecutive losses. ... With a 10-12 record in August, the Express have eclipsed their July wins total (8-19). Round Rock has enjoyed a winning record in only one month this season, going 17-13 in May. ... Express in PCL statistical rankings: 14th in batting (.265), 10th in pitching (4.61), tied for fourth in fielding (.979).
PLAYER QUICK NOTES
- Edwin Bellorin is hitting .080 (2-for-25) over his last seven games.
- Brian Bogusevic drew his 63rd walk of the season Monday night against Oklahoma City, tying Brooks Conrad's 2007 Express single-season record (Triple-A era). Bogusevic has a 27-to-13 walk-to-strikeout ratio since the All-Star Game break. However, he has only seven RBI in his last 27 games and is hitless in his last 11 at bats. Bogusevic leads the PCL with 90 runs scored and ranks sixth in the league with 137 hits, most among left-handed batters. He had six stolen bases in his first 90 games but has swiped 16 bags in his last 44 games (since July 3).
- Roy Corcoran has held opposing batters to a .212 average (14-for-66) with 10 strikeouts against two walks in his last 12 outings, during which time he is 1-0 with four saves and a 1.00 ERA. He also has a 9-0 strikeout-walk ratio in his last four appearances.
- Collin DeLome hitting .160 (8-for-50) over his last 12 games; six of the eight hits were extra-base knocks. DeLome has struck out at least once in 24 of his last 31 games (48 strikeouts) and in 10 of 11 (21 strikeouts). He has not recorded a multiple-hit game since Aug. 9. DeLome is tied with six others for sixth on the Express single-season triples chart.
- German Duran is hitless in five of his last six games, going 2-for-16 (.125) in that time.
- Matt Kata is hitting .308 (12-for-39) over his last 12 games with four multiple-hit outings. However, he is hitless in 13 at bats over the last four games. Kata has reached safely in 21 of 49 plate appearances over his last 12 games with 12 hits, eight walks and one hit by pitch for a .429 on base percentage.
- Drew Locke has hit safely in 11 of his last 15 games (.390, 23-for-59). He also is hitting .417 (15-for-36) over his last 10 games with two three-hit games, one four-hit game, six doubles and seven RBI. Locke is tied for third in the PCL with 34 doubles.
- Edwin Maysonet has struck out at least once in nine of his last 10 games with 14 strikeouts in that time; he also has struck out at least once in seven straight games (11 strikeouts). Maysonet is hitting .192 (10-or-52) over his last 16 games but recorded a two-hit night Monday against Oklahoma City.
- Oswaldo Navarro snapped a 3-for-22 skid Monday against Oklahoma City, producing four or Round Rock's seven hits. The four-hit outing was his best of the season with the Express.
- Chris Shelton has 21 strikeouts in his last 16 games with at least one strikeout in 12 of those outings. He is hitting .100 (3-for-30) in his last nine games.
- J.B. Shuck snapped a nine-game hitting streak with a strikeout in a pinch-hit appearance Monday night against Oklahoma City. He hit .359 (14-for-39) during the streak, his longest with the Express. Shuck has hit safely in 17 of his 22 games with the Express, posting eight multiple-hit outings.
NEXT SERIES
Round Rock begins its final road trip of the season with a five-game series against the Memphis Redbirds (St. Louis Cardinals). The series begins Wednesday with a 7:05 p.m. CDT first pitch at AutoZone Park. The Redbirds lead the season series 7-4, winning all three games in the Express' first trip to the confluence of the Wolf and Mississippi rivers.
