
Round Rock Express Announces 2016 Home Schedule

ROUND ROCK, Texas - There truly is no off-season in baseball. With only 12 home games left in 2015, the Round Rock Express announced their 2016 home schedule Thursday afternoon. The club's 12th season in the Pacific Coast League will open on the road for the second straight year, but will return to Dell Diamond for their home opener on Friday, April 15 against the Iowa Cubs (Chicago Cubs affiliate).
Some notable dates on the 72-game home schedule include Mother's Day, Sunday, May 8 against the New Orleans Saints (Miami Marlins), Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, against the Reno Aces (Arizona Diamondbacks), July 3rd against the I-Cubs and Labor Day, Monday, September 5, against the Memphis Redbirds (St. Louis Cardinals).
The Express will play each of their seven American Conference rivals twice at Dell Diamond. With the annual PCL home-away rotation against the Pacific Conference, they'll welcome the Northern Division to Round Rock in 2016. Those opponents include the Tacoma Rainiers May 23 - 26 (Seattle Mariners), Aces May 27 - 30, Sacramento River Cats July 14 - 17 (San Francisco Giants), and Fresno Grizzlies July 18 - 21 (Houston Astros).
The schedule features 12 Monday games, 11 Tuesday games, 7 Wednesday games, 9 Thursday games, 10 Friday games, 11 Saturday games and 12 Sunday games. There are 11 games in April, 17 in May, 13 in June, 17 in July, 10 in August and four in September.
Most games Monday - Friday will start at 7:05 p.m. CT. All Saturday games will start at 7:05 p.m. with the exception of six post-game concert dates which will start at 6:05 p.m. Sunday games in April and May will start at 1:05 p.m., June and July at 7:05 p.m. and August and September at 6:05 p.m. There will be two weekday day games: Wednesday, May 11 at 11:35 a.m. and Monday, May 30 at 12:05 p.m.
The full 2016 schedule will be released next week. The promotional schedule will be released in early 2016.
The E-Train returns to Dell Diamond to start the final stretch of the 2015 season on Sunday, August 23 with an eight-game homestand against the Salt Lake Bees (Los Angeles Angels) and Las Vegas 51s (New York Mets).
