HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Space Cowboys nabbed an early advantage with four runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back. After a pair of walks and a single, LF CJ Alexander tallied an RBI with his bases-loaded walk. SS Jack Winkler then broke it open on a bases-clearing double down the left field line. Sugar Land led 4-0 after one.

In the second, 3B Shay Whitcomb and DH Carlos Pérez recorded RBI doubles and Winkler drove another in with his single, extending the Space Cowboys' lead to 7-0.

The E-Train bullpen of RHP Patrick Murphy, RHP Mason Thompson, RHP Ryan Brasier and RHP Josh Sborz held Sugar Land scoreless through 4.1 innings.

With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Pérez ended the drought on a solo homer to make it a 7-0 lead.

Round Rock CF Alejandro Osuna kicked off the eighth with a double to left and advanced to third on a 3B Jonah Bride single. A pitch later, SS Tyler Wade put the Express on the board with a sacrifice fly. Osuna's run brought the Express deficit to 8-1.

Despite allowing a single in the ninth, Sugar Land RHP Peter Lambert completed a 3.2-inning save as the Space Cowboys took the series finale, 8-1.
