
Ronnie Burrell Named NBA G League Coach of the Month

LONG ISLAND - The NBA G League announced today that Long Island Nets Head Coach Ronnie Burrell was named NBA G League Coach of the Month for games played in January. The honor marks the third NBA G League Coach of the Month honor in Long Island Nets history and the first for Burrell.
Burrell led Long Island to an 11-2 month, with the Nets' 11 victories marking the most wins across the league in January. During that span, the team ranked third in the NBA G League in field goals made per game (44.4), rebounds per game (48.2) and steals per game (9.8), while ranking fourth in 3-point field goal percentage (38.4 percent), fifth in 3-pointers made per game (14.5) and blocks per game (6.2), sixth in assists per game (27.1) and field goal percentage (49.1 percent) and eighth in points per game (117.6). Long Island's 84.6 percent winning percentage also ranked second in the league for the month. On the defensive end, the LI Nets held their opponents to 105.8 points per game, the second-lowest opponent points per game in the league in January, and 44.6 percent shooting from the field, the second-lowest opponent field goal percentage for the month. The team ranked first in the league in defensive rating (101.4) and net rating (11.6) in January, as well as first in defensive rebounds per game (37.7) and defensive rebounding percentage (75.4 percent). Long Island scored 100 or more points against 10 opponents in January for the third time in franchise history. The Nets have won their last seven straight games and currently stand at second in the Eastern Conference and second in the league overall with a record of 13-3.
