OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, will host a STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art & Math) workshop for 45 ALPs Charter School students which is housed at Perry Tipler Middle School in Oshkosh on February 6 with Artist Patrick "Patcasso" Hunter and DJ Steady Rock. This event is the first of three events for the Wisconsin Herd Black History Month Celebration. The events will also include a VIP Art Reception on February 6 and a Black History Month Celebration Game presented by TDS Telecom on February 7.

Artist Patrick "Patcasso" Hunter and DJ Steady Rock are STEAM ambassadors with STEAM Revolt that travel the world unveiling a world of intrigue, emerging technologies, and careers that connect all disciplines of the Arts with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The event will run from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM with lunch for the students to follow. To begin the workshop, Patcasso and DJ Steady Rock will give a STEAM demonstration using sound waves to show how Science and Math are also connected to the Arts. Following the demonstration, kids will be challenged to design a shoe using all the elements of STEAM. The groups will build their shoe to accommodate different user profiles and will then present to a panel of three judges on how their shoes meet all the requirements and why someone would want to buy their shoe. To close out the workshop, Artist Patcasso will perform by taking a blank canvas and turning it into a work of art in minutes to a custom music track by DJ Steady Rock. The Herd will then provide lunch for all students in attendance as well as tickets to the Wisconsin Herd Black History Month Celebration Game.

During the game on Tuesday, February 7, the Herd will play in one-of-a-kind Black History Month jerseys with portraits of influential Black leaders featured on the jersey shell and their major accomplishments highlighted on their respective shorts. Artist Patrick "Patcasso" Hunter painted the portraits with the theme of "Be the Light" to represent the power of living a life of purpose, inspiration and bringing attention to situations that need to change. The jerseys also feature a traditional African Kente Cloth design turned into a circuit board throughout the piping, numbers and words to showcase the intersection of Art within Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM).

Each player will play in a jersey that represents a different legend. The 13 living and past legends include: Bessie Coleman, Frederick Douglass, Paul "Showtime" Gaffney and Herbert "Flight Time" Lang, Vice President Kamala Harris, Reverend Jesse Jackson, Earl Lloyd, Kenny "The Jet" Smith, Dr. Tommie Smith, Harriet Tubman, Reggie Van Lee, Madam C.J. Walker and Booker T. Washington.
