Albuquerque Isotopes News Release
NEED TO KNOW: Former Isotope Jamie Romak paced the Reno Aces (46-52) to an 8-4 victory against the Albuquerque Isotopes (44-54) Wednesday night at Aces Ballpark in Reno, NV.
THE TURNING POINT: Jamie Romak signed as a free agent with the Arizona Diamondbacks in November 2014. Since then, he has demolished the Isotopes, with whom he played the 2014 campaign. In 15 games this season with Reno, Romak is 18-for-55 with 14 runs scored, two doubles, a triple, five home runs, 17 RBI and 12 walks against Albuquerque. His fifth-inning three-run homer gave the Aces a 5-4 lead that they would not relinquish.
LET ME TELL YOU A STORY: Trevor Story continued his recent hot streak and is still an extra-base machine for the Isotopes. He finished Wednesday night's game 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI. The infielder now has eight hits in his last 17 at-bats with four runs scored, three doubles, three home runs and six RBI over four games. Since joining Albuquerque, 13 of Story's 19 hits are for extra-bases.
IRON MAN PARKER: Kyle Parker played in his 22nd-consecutive game, running his consecutive innings streak to 193. He turned in a 1-for-4 night with a third-inning triple that scored Cristhian Adames. Parker now has nine hits in his last 17 at-bats with five runs scored, two doubles, a triple, a homer and five RBI. During his last 22 straight starts, Parker has nine doubles, three triples, a homer and 17 RBI.
BEER STEINS ON FRIDAY: The first 2,500 fans 21 and older to Friday night's 7:05 game will receive a free beer stein courtesy of Miller Lite. There will also be post-game fireworks, weather permitting, following Dukes Retro Night on Saturday and a jersey giveaway courtesy of Bank of the West on Sunday. ON DECK: The Isotopes and Aces will play the finale of this four-game series Thursday night at 8:05 p.m. MT. Left-handed pitcher Aaron Laffey (2-3, 4.61 ERA) is scheduled to take the hill for Albuquerque, while Reno will go with right-hander Jhoulys Chacin (2-3, 3.35 ERA) on the mound.
IN THE HOLE: Following this short four-game road swing, the Isotopes will return home for an eight-game homestand beginning Friday at 7:05 p.m. against the Sacramento River Cats and Salt Lake Bees. 25 of Albuquerque's next 37 games are at home.
