Fresno Grizzlies Put Tacos on the Mind of the Entire Country

FRESNO, Calif. - This past Taco Tuesday had a little extra spice when the Fresno Grizzlies announced they would take the field as the Fresno Tacos for their Thursday, August 6th home game at Chukchansi Park. Photos of the uniform quickly spread across the country thanks to outlets such as ESPN, Yahoo!, Sports Illustrated, Washington Post, FOX Sports, Vice, Mashable, and many others posting stories about the Grizzlies to Tacos one-day name change.
The Fresno Tacos uniforms, which were designed in-house by Andy Inman and Dorian Castro, coincide with the fifth annual Taco Truck Throwdown that will be held during the 7:05 p.m. game at Chukchansi Park on August 6th. A record 25 local food trucks are expected to participate and compete for the "Best Taco" Award. Last season, 27,000 tacos were consumed by the sixth-largest crowd in franchise history.
The Fresno Grizzlies are currently offering a $22 ticket package for the August 6th game that includes a Field Level Reserve ticket and four taco vouchers. The package will increase to $28 on the day of the event, so fans are encouraged to take advantage of the discounted price. The offer is valid at the Chukchansi Park Box Office or over the phone at 559.320.TIXS. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Fans can also pre-order Fresno Tacos merchandise by heading to the FresnoGrizzlies.com Online Shop. The New Era Cap and Replica Jersey are currently available, with additional merchandise becoming available in the coming days.
First-Place Fresno Grizzlies Return Home in August
The Grizzlies will return home to Chukchansi Park on Saturday, August 1st to begin a nine-game homestand that runs through August 9th. The promotion for the August 1st 7:05 p.m. home game features an appearance by Biz Markie, who will lead the crowd in a sing-a-long of his 1989 classic "Just a Friend" that became an American Top 10 hit and made VH1's list of the greatest hip hop songs of all time. Most recently, Biz Markie has toured with the Yo Gabba Gabba live show and appeared in Sharknado 2: The Second One.
