Charleston RiverDogs News Release
CHARLESTON, SC - The New York Yankees announced Sunday that Charleston RiverDogs first baseman Kyle Roller has been placed on the 7-day DL, retroactive to April 16. Third baseman Garrison Lassiter replaces Roller on the roster, added from the Staten Island Yankees.
Roller, a 8th round pick of the Yankees in the 2010 First-Year Player Draft, was off to a sizzling start with the RiverDogs, batting .385 with three doubles and 4 RBI through his first seven games. The East Carolina product led the NYPL Staten Island Yankees in hits and total bases during his 2010 rookie campaign.
Lassiter, a 27th round pick of the Yankees in the 2008 First-Year Player Draft, begins his third tour of duty in Charleston. The 21-year old corner infielder hit a combined .209 between Staten Island and Charleston last season, but recorded an even better .260 clip with 29 RBI over 74 games with the RiverDogs in 2009.
The RiverDogs host the third of a four-game set with the Rome Braves tonight at 5:05 p.m. before wrapping up the series on Monday night at 7:05 pm. For more information on tickets visit www.riverdogs.com or call the RiverDogs' box office at (843) 577-DOGS (3647).
