BlueClaws Downed 8-3 by Suns in Game 2 of Doubleheader

LAKEWOOD, NJ - The Lakewood BlueClaws lost the 2nd game of their doubleheader Sunday against the Hagerstown Sunds by a final of 8-3, and they are now 1-5 on the season in games played as part of a doubleheader. LF Randolph Oduber was maginificent at the plate going 4-4 with 2 singles, a solo Home Run, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. SS Jason Martinson and C David Freitas also went deep for Hagerstown, and Domingo Santana hit his first Home Run of 2011 with a solo shot in the 2nd Inning.

SP Colby Shreve picked up his first loss of the season as he falls to 1-1. He went just 2 2/3rd's innings, gave up 6 hits, 6 runs, 3 earned, struck out 2 and walked 2. On the other side, the Starter for Hagerstown RHP Taylor Jordan became the first pitcher in the South Atlantic League this year with 3 wins as he toss 6 innings and gave up 6 hits and 3 runs. BlueClaws C Torre Langley left the game in the bottom of the 3rd inning after being hit with a foul ball behind home home plate. He did not return.

For Lakewood, C Cameron Rupp and 2B Carlos Perdomo each picked up an RBI in the 4th inning, and RF Domingo Santana went 2-3 as he now has a hit in 5 of his last 10 at-bats. On Monday LHP Ervis Manzanillo looks to rebound from his rough first start of the year as he will get the ball for Manager Chris Truby and try to pitch the BlueClaws to a split in this 4 game series against Hagerstown. He will be opposed by RHP Cameron Selik for Hagerstown. It is a day game on Monday with first pitch scheduled for 10:35 a.m.
