Rodney Ormond re-joins Fisher Cats

New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release

Manchester, NH- RHP Rodney Ormond was added back to the Fisher Cats roster last night and C Jeff Urgelles was sent from New Hampshire to Low-A Lansing.

The 28-year-old Ormond is 2-3 with two saves and a 2.45 ERA in 22 relief appearances with the Fisher Cats. He was sent to the Triple-A Syracuse SkyChiefs on June 9 and made four relief appearances, going 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA. He was originally selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 27th round of the 1999 draft out of North Carolina State University. The Blue Jays signed him as a minor league free agent this past off-season. He spent last year with Triple-A Ottawa, making 40 relief appearances.

The 24-year-old Urgelles played in just three games for the Fisher Cats, making no starts. He was originally selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the 26th round of the 2003 draft out of Savannah State.

The Fisher Cats begin a three game series with the Portland Sea Dogs (Red Sox) at Hadlock Field in Portland, ME tonight at 7:00 PM.
