
Rockets Stifled by Chiefs

The Kelowna Rockets fell 4-2 to the Spokane Chiefs on Saturday night at Prospera place.
Hudson Elynuik(25) opened the scoring for Spokane 7:17 into the opening frame and the score remained 1-0 Chiefs through 20 minutes.
In the middle frame the two clubs traded chances but it was Carsen Twarynski scoring his team leading 40th goal of the season with 33 seconds to go in the period. The power play marker evened things at 1-1 heading into the final stanza.
5:01 into the third Ty Smith(14) made it 2-1 Chiefs sliding one past Rockets netminder James Porter. Kole Lind(37) evened things up once again at 13:41, but with just 1:14 to play, Elynuik(26) put a dagger in the hearts of the Rockets giving the Chiefs a one goal advantage. Elynuik(27) completed the hat-trick on the empty net for a 4-2 final.
James Porter's record falls to 19-9-3-1 afters stopping 24 of 27 shots he faced. Spokane outshot Kelowna 28-24.
Kelowna's record is now 38-22-4-2.
The Rockets are back in action on Wednesday, March 7th when they host divisional rival the Vancouver Giants. Puck drop is at 7:05pm at Prospera Place.
