
Steel Leads Pats past Edmonton 7-4

Regina, Saskatchewan - Sam Steel scored three times and added an assist to lead the Regina Pats to a 7-4 win in Edmonton on Sunday afternoon. The Pats got goals from Nick Henry (12), Jake Leschyshyn (17) and Sam Steel (26) to lead 3-0 after one. In the second, Edmonton got one back but the Pats responded with three of their own. Sam Steel with his second of the night, 27th of the year made it 4-1, then Jake Leschyshyn scored his second of the game, 18th of the season and finally Cale Fleury picked up his 12th and it was 6-1 after 40 minutes. In the third, Sam Steel finished his hat trick with a powerplay goal, his 28th of the season as the Pats took the two points in a 7-4 final. Steel led the offence with four points while Cameron Hebig and Emil Oksanen both put up three assists. Regina outshot Edmonton 43-28, the powerplay was five for five and the penalty kill three for four. The Pats (35-25-5-1) continue their road trip Tuesday in Medicine Hat against the Tigers. Puck drops at 8 p.m. Regina time on 620 CKRM.
