Rockets drop 4-3 decision in Regina

The Regina Pats downed the Kelowna Rockets 4-3 on Friday night at the Brandt Centre in Regina, SK.

Jadon Joseph found Pavel Novak (11) at the backdoor of the Pats net 7:58 into the first period. Caiden Daley (2) tied up the game again with a power-play goal.

The Pats took the lead in the second period with goals from Zach Wytinck (3) and Kyle Walker (3).

Matthew Wedman (8) brought the Rockets within one with a power-play marker just past the midway point of the third period. Ryker Evans (3) reestablished the Pats two-goal lead 1:39 after Wedman's goal. Mark Liwiski (4) cut into Regina's lead while shorthanded with 4:31 to go in the game.

Roman Basran stopped 28 of the 32 shots fired on him, his record moves to 13-6-1-2. Kelowna outshot Regina 39-32.

The Rockets were 1-for-4 on the power play, while the Pats were 1-for-7 while on the man advantage.

Kelowna's record is now 17-10-1-2.

The team will finish up their prairie road trip tomorrow night against the Moose Jaw Warriors, puck drop is set for 5:00 pm PST.
