Last time they met: The Blazers hosted the Blades in Kamloops on November 30th of 2018. The home side would eventually emerge victorious via three consecutive goals, including the game winning goal in overtime, to defeat the Blades 3-2. Nolan Maier made 26 saves on 29 shots for the game.
What it means for the Blades: Securing their first win on this four game home-stand before the Christmas break on December 16th.
The stat: 24.3% - Just as the Medicine Hat Tigers and the top ranked power play leave Saskatoon, in waltzes the second-placed power play team in the league in the Blazers. They're currently converting at 24.3%, meaning the Blades will need to tidy up their penalty kill which allowed three goals from four opportunities against the Tigers.
The match-up: Blades defence vs Blazers - despite only having won two of their East Division road trip games so far, the Blazers have still managed to score with ease having racked up four or more goals in the last four games. The Blades' defence, minus Radek Kucerik (selection camp, Team CZE) will need to be at their best to ensure the game is played on Saskatoon's terms.
It's a big night for: Nolan Kneen - Kneen matches up against his former club for just the second and final time in the regular season. Kneen was drafted with the 3rd overall pick at the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft by Kamloops and played his entire WHL team with the Blazers until being traded to Saskatoon on November 26th, 2018, just four days before his former club would face-off against his new club.
Happy Hour: Get to the game early and enjoy $5 beers from 6pm to 7pm.
