Kelowna Rockets right wing Pavel Novak races from the crowd after scoring against the Victoria Royals

The Kelowna Rockets snapped their two-game winless streak with a come from behind 5-4 overtime win over the Victoria Royals on Saturday night at Prospera Place.
Rockets leading scorer Pavel Novak lead the charge, netting his second career Western Hockey League hat-trick. Jake Poole saved the day for Kelowna in overtime, scoring his first career game-winning goal with 18 seconds to go in extra time.
Riley Gannon (4) put Victoria on the board first while on the man advantage. Pavel Novak (3, 4) responded for the Rockets, scoring back-to-back goals before the end of the first period.
Gannon (5) and Tanner Scott (3) scored 17 seconds apart within the first minute of the second frame to push the Royals ahead. Mark Liwiski (1) pounced on a rebound to tie things up.
Jason Spizawka (1) scored his first WHL goal to put Victoria on top again. Novak (5) completed the hat-trick 7:46 into the third.
Streaking up the right-wing with seconds ticking away on the clock, Jake Poole (3) beat Royals netminder Tyler Palmer.
Colby Knight picked up his second win of the season, turning aside 20 shots.
The Rockets power play was one-for-three on the night, while the penalty kill was one-for-two.
Kelowna outshot Victoria 42 to 24.
Andrew Cristall and Elias Carmichael were the Rockets scratches.
The Rockets record moves to 3-3-0-0.
Kelowna is set to continue their homestand on Wednesday when they host the Vancouver Giants at Prospera Place. A limited number of single-game tickets are available at selectyourtickets.com, at the Prospera Place box office or by phone at 250-762-5050.
The current B.C. Provincial Health Office restrictions allow for 50% capacity at Prospera Place. All fans attending will need to abide by the BC Provincial Health Authority, Prospera Place and the Western Hockey League's recently announced COVID-19 health and safety requirements which includes masks, double vaccination and their BC vaccine card.
