Kennewick, WA - The Americans played the first of three straight games against the Seattle Thunderbirds last night, falling 3-2 in overtime after a late comeback.

The Americans got on the board first 4:14 into the game with a power play goal from Sam Huo, score from the right point off a pass from defenseman Lukas Dragicevic. The goal was Huo's first of the season after returning from injury last week.

Seattle's Jordan Gustafson tied the game halfway through the period with a one-timer from the low slot, beating Ams netminder Talyn Boyko on his blocker side.

Henrik Rybinski gave Seattle the lead 12:52 into the second period with a shorthanded goal, the Americans first shorthanded goal against this season.

Seattle held onto their 2-1 lead into the final minutes of the game.

The game-tying goal came 16:29 into the third period as Alex Serraglio made a highlight reel pass to Ethan Ernst who scored from the low slot. The goal was Ernst's first since joining the Americans last week from the Kelowna Rockets.

The game extended into overtime where Gabe Ludwig scored the game-winning goal for Seattle with a wrist shot from the right circle off an odd-man rush.

Talyn Boyko played the full game in net for the Americans, stopping 47 of 50 shots faced.
