
Rock Cats Disable Dozier; Receive Hanson From Ft. Myers

New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats of the Eastern League made two player moves today, each involving an Infielder.
INF Brian Dozier, the 24-year-old Fulton, Mississippi resident who joined New Britain less than a week ago, has been placed on the Disabled List. The 5'11"/190-pound Infielder was struck in the left cheek by a pitched ball while batting in the 3rd inning yesterday against Akron at New Britain Stadium. Dozier suffered multiple facial fractures and will be out of action for an indeterminate period. At the time of the injury, the University of Southern Mississippi product - ranked by Baseball America as the #30 Prospect in the entire Minnesota organization - was playing in just his 4th contest in New Britain and was batting .375;
INF Nate Hanson, the 24-year-old University of Minnesota product who the Twins selected in the 28th Round of the 2008 Draft, has joined New Britain from Ft. Myers in the Florida State League. Selected twice to the Big Ten Conference's First Team while playing at Minnesota, the 6'1"/ 195-pound native of Chanhassan, MN, was batting .267 with 12 Doubles, 4 Home Runs and 29 RBI over 52 games for the 2011 Miracle in Florida. He will be in uniform (#10) for the Rock Cats tonight when they host Erie at 6:35 PM.
