
Rock Cats Announce Four Roster Moves

New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats of the Eastern League announced four roster transactions today. They are:
C Danny Lehmann, a 24-year-old Rice University product selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 8th Round of the 2007 Draft, has been promoted from New Britain to Rochester in the International League. The 5'11"/186-pound receiver will join the Red Wings tonight en route to his first action at the Triple-A classification. A resident of The Woodlands, TX, Lehmann performed for the Rock Cats in portions of both the 2009 and 2010 seasons. A defensive specialist, he departs Connecticut with a .236 BA after having appeared in 34 games for the 2010 Rock Cats;
OF Brandon Roberts, the 25-year-old Cal-Poly San Luis Obispo product, is also making his way to Rochester and International League competition for the first time in his professional career. The 6'1"/185-pound resident of Bakersfield, CA was obtained by the Rock Cats' parent club - Minnesota - via trade with Cincinnati in 2006. A talented player who has been plagued by a variety of injuries, Roberts played for portions of four seasons (2007-08-09-10) in New Britain. He departs the 2010 Rock Cats with a .316 BA after having appeared in 35 games;
Both Lehmann and Roberts will be in uniform with Rochester tonight.
Coming to New Britain are:
SS Estarlin De Los Santos, the 23-year-old native of Villa Mella, Dominican Republic and a member of Minnesota's 40-Man Roster, will rejoin New Britain tomorrow night (7/27) when they are scheduled to play in Trenton, NJ. The highly-regarded INF began the 2010 Season in New Britain before being sent back to Single-A, Ft. Myers in the Florida State League in early May. He picked up his offensive game in Ft. Myers, batting .274 with 11 Doubles, 3 Triples, and 23 RBI in 59 games for the Miracle. The 5'10"/185-pounder was signed by the Twins as Free Agent in 2005;
C Tomas Streich, the 22-year-old West Virginia University product selected by Minnesota in the 5th Round of the 2009 Draft, will join New Britain tomorrow night from Beloit in the Single-A, Midwest League. The 6'0"/218-pound resident of Johnsonburg, PA appeared in 40 games for the 2010 Snappers. In just 50 games at Elizabethton in 2009, Streich belted 10 HRs and collected 37 RBI.
