Rochester Red Wings' Upcoming Series with Norfolk at Frontier Field to Feature Pair of MLB Rehabbers

ROCHESTER, NY - The Rochester Red Wings' series with the Norfolk Tides (Orioles) tomorrow-Friday at Frontier Field will feature 2002 American League Most Valuable Player and six-time All-Star infielder Miguel Tejada, as well as two-time All-Star infielder Brian Roberts. Roberts is scheduled to join Norfolk on a rehabilitation assignment. He is on the major league 60-Day Disabled List with a concussion.

Tejada has played 15 major league seasons, batting .285 with 304 home runs and 1,282 RBI in 2,118 games. He was an All-Star in 2002, 2004-06, and 2008-09. His MVP Award came while with the Oakland A's. Roberts has played 11 big league seasons, batting .281 with 84 homers and 477 RBI in 1,233 games. He played parts of two seasons with the Red Wings from 2001-02.

Orioles left-handed pitcher Zach Britton will start tomorrow's series opener while on a rehabilitation assignment. Britton started the season on the disabled list with a left shoulder impingement. He was selected by Baltimore in the third round of the 2006 draft.

Former Twins' farmhand Lew Ford is also on the Norfolk roster. He played parts of four seasons with the Red Wings from 2003-04 and 2006-07. Ford spent the 2011 season with Long Island of the independent Atlantic League.
