WHEN IT RAINS, IT POURS: The Rochester Red Wings dropped the fifth game of the series in Norfolk by a score of 9-2 in a rain-shortened contest...1B Matt Adams collected a pair of knocks in the five-inning contest and CF Derek Hill picked up a multi-hit game of his own, logging a two-run homer in the 5th inning...LF Travis Blankenhorn and SS Richie Martin Jr. extended their hitting streaks to two games apiece after they both logged a hit in the loss...despite allowing six earned in his four innings of work, RHP Cory Abbott recorded a team-high seven strikeouts...Rochester looks to bounce back in the series finale as they send RHP Franklyn Kilome to the mound.

KING OF THE HILL: CF Derek Hill logged his second and third hits of the year after his 2-for-2 day at the plate Saturday which included a home run and a pair of RBI...the California native's homer was his first since 9/18/22 vs. LV w/ TAC (SEA)...

His two-hit night was his first multi-hit performance of the '23 season...the righty logged 12 multi-hit performances in 65 MiLB games in '22, during his time spent between Tacoma and Toledo.

WEARING THE LEFT HOOK: The Red Wings are now 0-6 when their opponents start a left-handed pitcher...in '22, Rochester posted a 19-28 record when their foe started a southpaw...

The Wings have hit .261 (46-for-176) against lefties this year, recording four of their 15 homers off LHP...in '22, the Wings posted the same mark, .261 (355-for-1358), against lefties.

(EXIT) VELO REPORT: DH Wilson Garcia smashed a second-inning single off LHP Drew Rom at 111.6 MPH...this marked the second hardest-hit ball this season by a Red Wing, trailing only Travis Blankehorn's 112 MPH homer which came on 4/12 vs. Buffalo...

Garcia holds three of the five hardest-hit balls by the Wings this season.

NOTHING WAS THE SAME: After ranking toward the bottom of nearly every offensive category through the first nine games of the season, a stretch in which they went 1-8, the Wings' bats have ignited, collecting 101 hits over the past ten games, ranking first in the International League over that span (4/12)...

The Wings ranked last in the International League in hits with 52 over the first nine games (avg. 5.8 per game), posting a .190 (52-for-274) batting average...over the last ten games, they've hit .300 (101-for-336).

KORY ABBOTT: RHP Cory Abbott recorded a team-high seven strikeouts while suffering the loss Saturday night...Abbott's seven Ks are the most for the righty since he recorded seven against Atlanta while with Washington on 9/26/22...

The Wings' previous season-high strikeout total was set by RHP Joan Adon who struck out six Buffalo batters on 4/13.

Abbott ranks second among Rochester arms in the strikeout category with 18 through four starts, one behind righty Joan Adon (19).

A BRIGHT SPOT: Despite posting the worst run differential (-33) in Triple-A to start the year, Rochester posts the eighth-best batting average (.251, 153-for-610) in the International League, ranking 15th among the 30 Triple-A teams.

A DYING STAT: The Wings have gone without a quality start from their rotation this season...it took them 12 games to collect their first QS of the season in 2022, then not achieving their second until game #43.

PRETTY FLAWLESS: Rochester's eight errors through the first 19 games of the season are the second-fewest among all Triple-A teams...

Dating back to the 2022 season, only five International League teams have committed fewer errors than Rochester's 113.
