Louisville, KY - Louisville (7-13) fell 6-5 in the series finale against the Charlotte Knights (10-11). The Bats scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning thanks to back-to-back homers by Matt Reynolds and Henry Ramos, but Louisville couldn't complete the comeback. Louisville won four of the six games, giving their first series win of the year and first at Louisville Slugger Field.

The Charlotte Knights jumped ahead in the top of the first with a lead-off walk and four consecutive singles, taking an early 2-0 lead.

In the top of the third, the Knights took advantage of a single and sac fly, strengthening their lead to 3-0. An RBI double scored one more to end the inning, with Charlotte on top 4-0.

Louisville put their first run on the board in the bottom half of the third. TJ Hopkins put the first Bats runner on with a lead-off double, extending his hit streak to seven games. A sac bunt from Ramos and a base hit RBI from Chuckie Robinson drove in Hopkins to make it 4-1.

Charlotte scored once again in the top of the fourth with a walk and three singles to put the score at 6-1.

The Bats lit up the board in the eighth to start their comeback, beginning with a lead-off walk to Matt McLain. Reds No. 5 prospect Christian Encarnacion-Strand secured the second hit of his Triple-A career with a double into left.

Reynolds followed Encarnacion-Strand with a 380-foot homer to right field, his second of the series and third of the year, to score three for the Bats and slashed the Knights lead to 6-4. The first multi-home run inning of the season, Ramos smashed another bomb to right, making the Knights lead 6-5.

Louisville threatened in the bottom of the ninth by getting a runner on, but left him stranded.

Robinson, who has a hit in his last is twelve of thirteen games, went four-for-four in today's game with one RBI.

Bats leftie Brandon Williamson pitched 3.2 innings in his second start of the week against Charlotte and allowed 10 hits, six runs (four earned) and struck out three.

The Bats start a two week road trip on Tuesday, April 25, first traveling to Principal Park for a six game series against the Iowa Cubs. With the first pitch set for 7:38 pm E.T., righthander Levi Stoudt (0-1, 4.09) is expected to start for Louisville.
