Robson Walks off in 13th to Sweep Goats

The SeaWolves (24-34) rallied in the bottom of the 13th inning to edge the Hartford Yard Goats (28-32) 8-7 Thursday to give Erie their first sweep of the season.

Erie trailed 7-4 to start the bottom of the 13th inning. A.J. Simcox started at second base, and was promptly advanced to third on a Kody Eaves single. Harold Castro singled into right to bring the SeaWolves within two on Marc Magliaro. Danny Woodrow struck out swinging for the first out of the inning, bringing up Jake Rogers. Magliaro plunked Rogers to load the bases up with one out for Sergio Alcantara. The 'Wolves shortstop grounded out to second, but managed to bring in Eaves to bring the score to 7-6. With runners on second and third and two outs, Robson sprayed a ball in deep left center to knock in Castro and Rogers, capping off the walk-off win.

Hartford scored first in the third inning on a two-run blast from Brian Mundell in left off of Erie starter Beau Burrows.

The SeaWolves cut the lead in half in the fifth inning. Woodrow tripled to lead it off, and was singled home by Robson to make it 2-1.

Kody Eaves drove a ball into left on Hartford start Ryan Castellani to knot it up 2-2 in the sixth inning.

The game remained tied until the 10th when Hartford's Brendan Rodgers drove in Sam Tidaback on a sac fly to make it 3-2.

Erie immediately tied the game at 3-3 after Robson singled in Rogers off of Matt Pierpont.

Wes Rogers touched home for Hartford in the top of the 12th on a Sam Tidaback single to give the Goats a 4-3 lead.

Once again the SeaWolves fought back to tie the game in the home half of the 12th. Robson added another RBI with a sac bunt to tie it up at 4-4.

Mundell and Ryan Metzler both logged RBI doubles for Hartford in the top of the 13th on Kurt Spomer. Wes Rogers scored on a passed ball to jump up to a 7-4 lead on Erie before the Wolves stormed back in the bottom half of the inning.

Spomer (2-0) received his second win of the season after hurling two innings and allowing only one earned run. Magliaro (3-4) lost for the second time in the series and blew a save after Erie's comeback 13th inning. Robson finished 3 for 6 with 5 RBI after smashing the game winning double.

The SeaWolves continue the home stand against the Reading Fightin Phils Friday at UPMC Park at 7:05 PM. RHP Anthony Castro (0-0, 0.00 ERA) will make his second start for Erie against RHP Harold Arauz (3-3, 3.43 ERA).

Friday starts Paint the Park Pink Weekend at UPMC Park. The first 1,000 fans ages 13 and up will receive a pink shirt courtesy of UPMC Health Plan.

The SeaWolves will wear pink jerseys to support the fight against breast cancer. The game-worn jerseys and other items will be auctioned off during the weekend to raise funds for the Hamot Health Foundation. Approximately half of the jerseys will be auctioned off each day on Friday and Saturday.

Fans can enjoy $3 specials on select domestic draft beers exclusively in the Bud Light Beer Garden until the game starts.
