Akron RubberDucks News Release
Akron's Aaron Civale returned from the disabled list and tossed four scoreless innings, and Bobby Bradley belted his 10thhomer, as the RubberDucks cruised to an 8-2 victory over the Portland Sea Dogs Friday night at Hadlock Field in Portland, Me.
Turning Point
The RubberDucks (35-26) scored five times in the third inning to take a 7-0 lead. Bradley led off the inning with a long solo homer to right off Sea Dogs starter Durin O'Linger, who was making his Double-A debut. It was Bradley's 10thof the year and his second RBI of the game. After two singles and two walks forced in another run to make it 4-0, O'Linger (0-1) was lifted in favor of Daniel McGrath. McGrath walked Andrew Calica with the bases loaded and then served up a two-out, two-run single to Connor Marabell to extend the lead to 7-0.
Mound Presence
Civale returned to the active roster for the first time since May 4th. He tossed four shutout innings and threw 45 of his 59 pitches for strikes. Civale, who landed on the DL with right shoulder soreness, allowed just two harmless singles and recorded two strikeouts. Dominic DeMasi (5-1) took over for Civale in the fifth and earned the win. He allowed two runs over four innings. Jordan Milbrath closed up shop for the night with a perfect ninth.
Duck Tales
Bradley smacked a two-out RBI single in the first inning, and Andrew Calica did the same in the second. Marabell drove in the final run with a run-scoring single in the fifth to make it 8-1. He finished with three RBI on the night. Willi Castro went 3-5 and scored twice.
