Roberson AA's Batter of the Week

WINNIPEG - The American Association has announced that Winnipeg Goldeyes outfielder Chris Roberson has been named the league's Pointstreak batter of the week for the week ending July 22.

Roberson put together a .516 batting average last week and drove in four runs. He hit safely in all seven games and had an extra-base hit in five of Winnipeg's seven games. Roberson's best performance was Saturday night in Sioux Falls when he went five-for-six against the Pheasants. Additionally, he scored three runs and drove in three runs in the game the Goldeyes won 14-7.

On the season, Roberson is second on the team with a .323 batting average. He leads the team with nine home runs, is tied for the team lead in RBI with Yurendell de Caster at 46 and ranks fifth in the American Association with 50 runs scored.

The Goldeyes begin a six-game homestand with the first of three games against the Quebec Les Capitales tonight. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
