July 24, 2012 - American Association (AA)
El Paso Diablos News Release
EL PASO, TX- Reyes Dorado pitched six scoreless innings and Jonathan Cisneros homered in a 2-0 Diablos victory over the Grand Prairie Air Hogs at QuikTrip Park. The win was the first of the season for El Paso at the home of the first place Air Hogs.
Dorado (1-2), making his first start of the season after 21 appearances out of the bullpen, limited a tough Grand Prairie attack to two hits over six innings, striking out three and walking just one. Only two batters reached scoring position against Dorado, who earned his first win of 2012.
Air Hogs starter Reymond Cruz (4-4, 0-1), just traded from El Paso to Grand Prairie, was almost as effective, pitching seven solid inning against his former team. However, the Diablos struck for the only two runs of the night in the fifth against Cruz. Jonathan Cisneros led off the inning with his fourth home run, and Reid Fronk later added a run on a sacrifice fly.
Justin Harper and Tim Adleman each pitched scoreless innings in relief before Marcel Prado closed the game out for his ninth save.
The Diablos are 25-35 through 60 games and 21-19 under manager Tim Johnson. Game two of the series is Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. (6:05 p.m. MST).
