Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release
Evansville, IN: The Road Warriors provided a third period jolt by Danny Hobbs to win in shootouts by a score of 3-2.
The Road Warriors did not score first for the fourth straight game as Daniel Tetrault blasted in his ninth of the year 13:03 into the first frame. Chris Markiewicz gave a pass to a wide-open Tetrault who scored past Connor Knapp's glove.
Danny Hobbs tied the game at one just 2:02 into the second period. Hobbs found a loose puck in the crease for his sixth of the year. Tetrault closed out the period with his second of the game and 10th of the year to put Evansville on top 2-1. Todd Robinston found Tetrault at the point for a slap shot goal on the man advantage.
The Road Warriors did not have many changes early in the third period with two shots through the first eight minutes of play. Ben Woodley released the third shot on net that was deflected by Hobbs and barley trickled past James Reid to tie the game at two. Hobbs scored his second of the game and seventh of the year. This brought the game into overtime and shootouts. Brendan Connolly, Jordie Johnston and Hobbs scored while Knapp saved all three for the Greenville 3-2 win. Knapp improves to 3-5-0 with 40 saves on 42 shots. Reid remains winless with Evansville saving 25 shots.
The Road Warriors continue their nine-game road trip tomorrow against the Fort Wayne Komets at 7:30 p.m. The game can be viewed via America One or by clicking the listen live link on the Road Warriors' homepage.
