North Charleston, SC: Chad Painchaud powered the Stingrays past the Road Warriors on Saturday night in route to a 4-1 game.

The tempers began early in the game between the two divisional rivals. Just 49 seconds, Bretton Stamler and Igor Gongalsky were sent off for fighting. More penalties were issued to the Road Warriors which Painchaud took advantage of. The Stingrays forward blasted home a one-timer to put give South Carolina a 1-0 lead. Just moments later, Marc Hagel made it a 2-0 Stingrays lead with a rebound goal.

The second period brought no scoring and more physical play. Road Warriors netminder Carsen Chubak was faced with several shots which the rookie netminder rejected. The Stingrays shot total through two periods was at 33 shots.

South Carolina continued to toss shots towards the net during the early stages of the third period. Scott Campbell found the back of the back net with his fourth goal of the year just 4:37 into the frame. About four minutes later, Painchaud scored his second of the game and again on the power play. Charlie Dodero's penalty proved fatal as the Road Warriors fell behind 4-0. With 6:30 left, Elgin Pearce broke Jeff Jakaitis' shutout attempt with a short-side goal. That was the last of the scoring until the final horn sounded. Cubak stopped 39 saves and fell to a 1-1 record on the season. Jakaitis finished the game with 21 saves and collected his second win on the season.

The Road Warriors continue on the road on Wednesday against the Reading Royals. The faceoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. and can be heard by clicking the listen live link on the Road Warriors' homepage or by watching online at America One.
