RiverKings double up Killer Bees in 4-2 win

HIDALGO, TX --- Louis Dumont scored two goals and Larry Sterling won his 27th game in the Memphis RiverKings' 4-2 win over Rio Grande Valley in Hildago, TX Friday night. The RiverKings will wrap up their lengthy nine game, 17 day road trip tomorrow night in Austin at 7:30.

The RiverKings never trailed in the game as they took a 1-0 lead on Dumont's first goal at 6:28 of the first period. Rio tied the game on David Masse's first of his two goals 36 seconds into the second period. Ryan Held made it 2-1 1:17 later only to have Masse tie it again at 5:30.

Steve Makway scored what would be the game winner on a power play at 17:27. Dumont closed out the scoring with the only goal of the third period as he redirected Andrew Davis' wrist shot from the right point. Davis, who was acquired in a trade from Odessa on Monday, finished with two assists.

With his 27th win of the season on 36 saves, Larry Sterling tied Mark Richards and Scott Brower for the franchise record for single season goalie wins.
