RiverKings Battle IceMen in Evansville Tonight

November 20, 2010 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Mississippi RiverKings News Release

EVANSVILLE, IN --- The Mississippi RiverKings are in Evansville, Indiana for tonight's game against the IceMen, a Central Hockey League contest scheduled to start at 7:35 PM at the Swonder Ice Arena.

Broadcast coverage of tonight's game will be on WPGF-FM 87.7 The Pig with veteran broadcaster and RiverKings Media Coordinator Bob Bakken calling the action at 7:20 PM. Fans can also hear the broadcast at www.radiopig.com and will be aired on CHL-TV. Click the Watch Live button on the RiverKings web site home page and follow the prompts to view tonight's action.

Mississippi brings a 5-8-0 record into tonight's contest and is tied for fifth place in the CHL Berry Conference with 10 points. Evansville enters the contest with a record of 7-5-1 and is tied for third place in the CHL Turner Conference standings with 15 points.

The RiverKings look for their first win against the new member of the CHL, one of five teams coming in from the IHL last season (much of the Evansville organization was at Muskegon last year in the IHL). Both previous regular season games were played in Mississippi and decided by 5-2 scores. Evansville also stopped the RiverKings in the pre-season in Indiana.

The teams met last in Mississippi on November 9th and will play next at Mississippi on November 30th.

The RiverKings have lost two straight after last night's 1-0 loss to Quad City and a loss tonight will equal the longest losing streak of the season.

Mississippi's last win was Saturday in a 4-3 victory at Colorado.

Matt Summers and Chris Richards lead the RiverKings in goal scoring with five each and Nathan Lutz paces the point parade with 13. Matt Boyd (3-8-11) is one of the top rookie point producers in the CHL.

Alexander Pechurskiy has started the past three games in goal and has appeared in the last four contests. The young goalie has a 1-2-0 record, 2.52 goals-against-average, and a save percentage of .917.

Mississippi added Brennan Sarazin to the roster yesterday, a forward who has appeared in one ECHL game with Elmira and one game in the Federal Hockey League with the 1000 Islands Privateers. Last season, he played 26 games with Strasbourg of the French professional league, netting seven goals for 18 points. His pro career began as an amateur addition for the 2009 CHL playoffs with the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees, where he scored a goal and added an assist in three post-season appearances.

Next home action for the RiverKings will be after Thanksgiving on Saturday, November 27th, against the Laredo Bucks at 7:05 PM. Fans can enjoy a post-game skate after the contest. The night has also been designated as "Kids Night." For more information, call the RiverKings at 662-342-1755.
