RiverKings Acquire McNulty, Activate Dumont

SOUTHAVEN, MS --- The Mississippi RiverKings of the Central Hockey League have announced that goaltender Kyle McNulty has been acquired off waivers.

McNulty was released by the Arizona Sundogs of the CHL earlier this season after posting a 6-15-1 record in 24 games. Kyle had a 3.43 goals-against-average and a save percentage of.883 with the Sundogs.

Last season, McNulty was 11-7-2 with the New Mexico Scorpions of the CHL, posting a 2.82 goals-against-average and a save percentage of.918, which was fifth-best among CHL goaltenders last season. The 2.82 goals-against-average ranked ninth among league net minders.

He came to the Scorpions after spending his first professional hockey season briefly split between the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the International Hockey League and the RiverKings in the 2007-08 campaign. McNulty was 1-0-0 with the Fury in two appearances and 2-1-0 with the RiverKings, including a 2.46 GAA and a save percentage of.917 with the riverKings.

McNulty came to the pros after a four-year collegiate career at Clarkson University. His best season with the Knights came in his junior year, where he finished with a 7-8-0 record and a 2.86 GAA in 15 appearances. His save percentage in his junior season was.900.

McNulty also has one season of junior hockey experience with the Waterloo Blackhawks of the United States Hockey League in the 2001-02 season.

DUMONT RETURNS FROM LEAVE

Forward Louis Dumont is returning to the RiverKings' roster in time for tonight's game between the RiverKings and Americans in Allen, Texas. Dumont has been on a leave of absence by the Central Hockey League to attend to a family illness. He was not in the lineup for Wednesday's game in Tulsa Tonight, the RiverKings meet the Allen Americans in a crucial road game in suburban Dallas, starting at 7:30 PM. Broadcast coverage of the game with Media Coordinator Bob Bakken begins at 7:15 PM on Sports 56, WHBQ-AM 560 and www.sports56whbq.com. A big night in RiverKings history occurs Saturday, March 13th, when the jersey of all-time scoring leader Don Parsons is retired.
