RiverDogs Unveil Kid's Meal at Concession Stand
April 7, 2012 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Charleston RiverDogs News Release
CHARLESTON, SC - Though the Charleston RiverDogs recently announced the addition of three new sausages at the Sausage World concession stand for this season, we know that many kids won't have an interest in duck sausage with plum sauce, venison sausage served with a citrus chipotle barbeque sauce - called the Byrdog - and an alligator sausage served with a remoulade.
And because of the conservative diets that some kids have, the RiverDogs have introduced a Kid's Meal for all home games.
An "Uncrustable" (peanut butter and jelly sandwich without crust), a bag of chips and a small fountain soda - appropriately called The Kid's Meal - made its debut on Thursday, April 5, when the RiverDogs opened the 2012 season by hosting the Rome Braves. The Kid's Meal - at only $3 each - can be found at the Scoops concession that is located on the main concourse.
"We believe that our adult fans will enjoy the new sausages, and 'Dog World' remains a favorite, but we now have something that all kids will certainly enjoy," said John Schumacher, the food guru for the RiverDogs' ownership ensemble. "We still have all of the popular staples and plenty of unique items, but we know that the kids will certainly be happy with the Kid's Meal."
The RiverDogs continue the 2012 season at 7:05pm Saturday, April 7 with the third night of their season opening seven-game homestand. Atlanta Braves pitcher Tim Hudson is making a rehab appearance for the Rome Braves. For ticket information, please contact the Box Office at 843-577-DOGS (3647) or online at www.riverdogs.com.
