Savannah, GA - The Savannah Sand Gnats used a five-run third inning to cruise by the Augusta GreenJackets Saturday night in front of 2,457 fans at Historic Grayson Stadium. LHP Alex Panteliodis earned the win in his first professional appearance for the Gnats.

The Gnats (2-1) took control of the game with a five-run third inning. After one out singles by SS TJ Rivera and RF Gregory Pron, 1B Brian Harrison dumped a double along the left-field line to bring home Rivera to put the Gnats in front 2-0. Savannah 3B Aderlin Rodriguez followed with a majestic three-run home run down the left field line for a 5-0 Gnats' lead. Rodriguez finished 2-4 with three RBI and two runs scored.

Alex Panteliodis, the Mets' 9th round pick in 2011 out of the University of Florida went five innings Saturday in his professional debut to earn the win. He allowed just one unearned run in the fifth inning. He struck out three and walked one.

Savannah out-hit Augusta (1-2) 14-6. GreenJackets' starter Adalberto Mejia gave up six runs on nine hits in 2.2 innings in the loss.

The Gnats scored the game's first run on an Albert Cordero sacrifice fly in the second to grab a 1-0 lead.

The Gnats finish their four-game series against the Augusta GreenJackets on Easter Sunday when they send RHP Domingo Tapia (0-0, 0.00) to the hill against RHP Kyle Crick (0-0, 0.00). First pitch is scheduled for 2:05 pm and gates open at 1 pm.

The Sand Gnats will host an afternoon Easter Sunday game complete with Kids Eat Free Sunday. All kids 12 and under will receive a voucher for a free hot dog, chips, and soda. Kids Run the Bases presented by Papa Murphy's will happen immediately following the game, followed by a post-game Easter Egg hunt for kids 12 and under.
