CHARLESTON, SC - Cleanup hitter Brian Baisley drilled a 2-2 pitch over the shortstop's head to drive home the winning run as the Charleston RiverDogs nipped the Asheville Tourists, 2-1, in 10 innings in South Atlantic League action Friday night in front of 6,241 fans - the second largest crowd of the season - at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.

With one out in the extra inning, Carmen Angelini drew a walk off Adam Jorgensen (1-2), stole second and remained there as David Adams walked. Both advanced on a wild pitch, and Angelini trotted home with the winning run on Baisley's RBI single. Baisley had two RBI on the night and the winning one was his league-leading 23rd of the season.

With the victory, the RiverDogs win for the second consecutive night in extra-innings and improve to 15-14 while the Tourists fall to 13-15.

Tied in the bottom of the eighth, the RiverDogs seized a 1-0 advantage when Ray Kruml lined a single up the middle and then safely advanced to second on reliever Michael Marbry's throwing error having cleanly fielded Angelini's bunt attempt. Kruml dashed to third after a flyout and then scampered home when Baisley slapped a single to left for the game's first run.

Asheville knotted the game at 1-1 in the top of the ninth as Kiel Roling laced a single to right. Carlos Martinez pinch ran, and then Jimmy Cesario cracked a double to right that advanced Martinez to third. David Christensen tied the game with an infield single that plated Martinez and handed Charleston closer Pat Venditte his second blown save of the season.

RiverDogs reliever Brad Rulon -- Charleston's fourth pitcher - picked up the victory and improves to 1-1 on the season as he pitched the 10th inning while surrendering two hits along with striking out three of the five batters he faced.

Charleston starter David Phelps earned a hard luck no-decision as he held Asheville to seven hits and struck out seven through a season-high seven shutout innings.

Tourists' starter Ethan Hollingsworth went toe-to-toe with Phelps as he threw 6.2 shutout innings allowing seven hits with five strikeouts. Hollingsworth began the game by eliminating 12 straight batters and was perfect through four.

The RiverDogs collected 10 base knocks on the evening, led by Bailsey's three. No other player recorded more than one.

Asheville recorded 12 hits for the game, with Scott Robinson, Jordan Pacheco, Roling and Tyler Massey each marking a pair.

The RiverDogs complete their eight-game homestand with Saturday night's conclusion of a four-game set against the Tourists at 7:05 p.m. Charleston has yet to announce a starter for the contest while Asheville will send right-hander Robinson Fabian (1-1, 5.28 ERA) to the hill.
