
Rome Shuts Out Lexington

Rome, GA -The Rome Braves defeated the Lexington Legends Thursday night in front of 3,635 fans at State Mutual Stadium to take a three games to none lead in the four game series.
The game was dominated by defense and pitching for the first three innings. In the bottom of the fourth the Braves scored three runs to take the 3-0 lead. The runs came on an RBI single by Gerry Rodriguez and a two RBI double by Braeden Schlehuber. In the eighth Rome added an insurance run on an RBI sacrifice fly by Rodriguez for the final 4-0 score. Braves pitching continued to be strong as starter Zeke Spruill went eight shutout innings, while striking out seven; Angelo Paulino pitched a scoreless ninth to close out the game.
Spruill (5-0) was the winning pitcher for the Braves, while Ross Seaton (4-2) got the loss for the Legends.
