RiverDogs - Sand Gnats to Play 1 1/2 Games Thursday
April 22, 2015 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Charleston RiverDogs News Release
CHARLESTON, SC - The Charleston RiverDogs will host the Savannah Sand Gnats on Thursday at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park and the teams will play 1 1/2 games.
Due to Sunday's game between the two adversaries in Savannah being suspended in the sixth inning, the teams must complete that game before starting the regularly scheduled four-game series. As a result the start time has been moved from 7:05 p.m. to 6:05 p.m., and the second game will commence 30 minutes after the suspended game. The second contest will be a complete 9-inning game.
In Sunday's suspended contest, Charleston had scored seven runs in the top of the sixth inning when the game was halted with two outs, bases loaded, and a 0-0 count to Austin Aune. Allen Valerio was the runner on first base, Connor Spencer was on second and Dustin Fowler was on third. Savannah's Carlos Valdez had just been entered into the game to relieve Gaither Bumgardner.
The Budweiser Clydesdales were previously scheduled to parade around the field prior to the regularly scheduled game at The Joe on Thursday, but due to the time adjustment, they will be stationed outside of the Fishburne Street entrance of the ballpark from 6:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Fans are encouraged to interact with and enjoy the impressive and world-renown Clydesdale horses during that time.
Tickets may be purchased at the Riley Park Box Office, (843) 577-DOGS (3647) or on-line at www.riverdogs.com . If fans cannot make it to the ballpark, they are encouraged to tune in to all the action this year both home and away on 1250 WTMA, the radio home for RiverDogs baseball.
