
River Rats start busy final two weeks

Albany River Rats News Release
The Albany River Rats make their only visit to the Hartford Civic Center for a 7:05pm face-off on Wednesday night. The River Rats make their third and final visit to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to take on the Penguins this Friday at 7:05pm. Albany moves on to Paul E. Tsongas Arena for their second and final road contest against the Lowell Lock Monsters in a 7:00pm face-off on Saturday evening. The Albany River Rats close out the four-games-in-five-days road stretch against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in a 4:05pm face-off on Sunday afternoon.
Rat Bites:
The Albany River Rats won their second consecutive home game on Sunday and earned the 500th point at Pepsi Arena in franchise history. The River Rats are 210-147-57-23 for the 500 points in 437 regular season games in Albany since 1993.
LW Rob Skrlac has been named the New Jersey Devils' Masterton Trophy nominee. The trophy, voted on by members of the Professional Hockey Writers' Association, is awarded for perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.
D Phil Cole scored his first AHL goal on Saturday night and has three (1-2-3) points in 32 games during the 2003-04 season.
F Aaron Voros made his professional debut on Saturday at Wilkes-Barre. The Vancouver native joined the River Rats after scoring a team-high 16 goals for the University of Alaska-Fairbanks (CCHA).
LW Joe Hulbig scored twice on Sunday, including his 100th career American Hockey League goal. He ranks second the on the club with 19 tallies this season and third with 39 (19-20-39) points overall. Over the Air:

Tues., March 30th @ 2pm - "Rowdy" The Rat will be at Woodlong Elementary School for a "Reading with Rowdy" assembly. The Woodlong Elementary School is located at 3311 Well Avenue in Schenectady.
Sat., April 3rd @ 12:30pm - "Rowdy" The Rat will meet with children at the Boys & Girls Club, located at 21 Delaware Avenue in Albany.

March 27th - ALB 1 @ WBS 2 â D Phil Cole scored his first AHL goal and F Aaron Voros made his pro debut in the second of three visits to Wilkes-Barre for Albany this season. G Ari Ahonen stopped 32 shots of 34 as the River Rats saw their road winless string hit 10 games (0-8-2-0).
March 28th â HER 2 @ ALB 4 â LW Joe Hulbig scored twice and G Ari Ahonen stopped 39 of 41 shots to match a career-best with his 13th victory.
LW Ilkka Pikkarainen scored his eighth goal and C Steve Guolla picked up his second point in as many games during the 2003-04 season.
