River Rats Announce 2009-10 Opponents

Albany, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today the club's schedule format for the 2009-10 American Hockey League season. AHL President and CEO David Andrews also announced that the league has approved the conference and division alignment for next year.

Albany will play 42 games against East Division opponents, including 12 games against their Northway Rivals, the Adirondack Phantoms (six home games, six away games). They will also play eight games against new East Division member Syracuse (four home, four away). Outside of their division, the River Rats will play fourteen games against Atlantic Division clubs and four against the North Division's Rochester Americans. In all the River Rats will face fifteen opponents in 2009-10.

The AHL's 2009-10 regular season will begin on Oct. 2 with the complete schedule to be announced later this summer.
