Pirates Announce Opponents for 2009-10 Season

PORTLAND, ME - The Portland Pirates announced their opponents for the 2009-10 season today. The news follows the announcement earlier today from American Hockey League President and CEO David Andrews that the league's Board of Governors has approved the following conference and division alignment for the AHL's 2009-10 season (NHL affiliates in parentheses). The amount of games the Pirates will play at home and on the road against each opponent is listed below.

The Pirates will welcome the Syracuse Crunch to Portland for the first time since 2000. Additionally, the Rochester Americans will visit Maine for the first time since 2001.
This season, the Pirates will begin their 17th season and their second as the proud affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres. The Pirates home opener will take place in just 95 days on Saturday, October 10th at the Cumberland County Civic Center. The Pirates opponent for opening night and for each of their 80 game dates will be announced later this summer.
Portland Pirates season ticket plans for the 2009-10 season are now on sale at the Pirates office, located at 94 Free Street in Portland. Ticket packages start at just $45. Plans are underway for an All-Star Season! The Portland Pirates will host the 2010 Time Warner Cable AHL All-Star Classic on January 18th and 19th, 2010.
