
Worcester Sharks Release Schedule Of Prey For 2009-10 Season

WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr announced the schedule of opponents for the Sharks 2009-10 season. In addition, the league's Board of Governors has approved the following conference and division alignment for the AHL's 2009-10 season (NHL affiliates in parentheses):

In the Atlantic Division, Worcester will play five home and five road games against both Lowell and Providence; four home and four road games against Hartford, Manchester, Portland, and Springfield; and will welcome Bridgeport to the division by playing the Sound Tigers a total of six times (three home, three away).
Worcester will battle East Division opponents Adirondack, Albany, Binghamton, Hershey, Norfolk, Syracuse, and Wilkes-Barre Scranton for two games each (one home, one away). This will mark the first time the Sharks face the Adirondack Phantoms or the Syracuse Crunch.
In addition, the Sharks will swim out to the Western Conference and face the Abbotsford Heat (two home, two away) and the Manitoba Moose (two home, two away).
The complete schedule will be announced later this summer. In total, the Sharks will play 80 regular season games with 40 games on home-ice at the DCU Center and 40 games on the road.
