
AHL Releases Division Alignment and Schedule of Opponents

Norfolk Admirals News Release
NORFOLK, Va. - The American Hockey League President and CEO David Andrews announced that the league's Board of Governors has approved a new conference and division alignment for the 2009-10 season. In addition, the Norfolk Admirals today released their schedule of opponents.
The Admirals will remain in the East Division of the Eastern Conference for the seventh consecutive season. Norfolk's 2009-10 schedule features 40 home games. Twenty-five of those games will be against East Division opponents - including three games at Norfolk Scope Arena against East Division newcomer Syracuse Crunch. Thirteen games will be played against the Atlantic Division while the remaining two home games will be the first games ever played between the Admirals and the Manitoba Moose.
The following teams will be joining the Admirals in the East Division with the amount of home/road games given and NHL affiliate listed in parenthesis:
Adirondack Phantoms (Philadelphia Phantoms): 4/4
Albany River Rats (Carolina Hurricanes): 4/4
Binghamton Senators (Ottawa Senators): 4/4
Hershey Bears (Washington Capitals): 5/5
Syracuse Crunch (Columbus Blue Jackets): 3/3
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh Penguins): 5/5

Bridgeport Sound Tigers (New York Islanders): 2/2
Hartford Wolf Pack (New York Rangers): 2/2
Lowell Devils (New Jersey Devils): 2/2
Manchester Monarchs (Los Angeles Kings): 2/2
Manitoba Moose (Vancouver Canucks): 2/2
Portland Pirates (Buffalo Sabres): 2/2
Springfield Falcons (Edmonton Oilers): 2/2
Worcester Sharks (San Jose Sharks): 1/1
The 2009-10 AHL regular season will begin on October 2. The complete schedule will be announced later this summer.
