The Sacramento River Cats (89-49) beat the Tucson Sidewinders (70-68) 5-1 on Tuesday at Raley Field. LHP Ron Flores (1-0) earned the win in relief, allowing no runs or hits in 2.0 IP. LF Mike Edwards led the Cats with 3 H. Edwards and 1B Graham Koonce both homered in the game.
In the game, Koonce (109 RBI, 94 BB) broke the River Cats' single-season RBI record and tied the team's record for bases on balls in a season. Sacramento is just one win shy of matching the club record for wins in a season (2000: 90-54).
