WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The Sacramento River Cats (28-20) completed their eight-game homestand with a 7-3 win over the Memphis Redbirds (20-26) on Thursday at Raley Field. With the win, Sacramento completed its six-win homestand, improved to a season-best eight games above .500 and moved back into first place in the Pacific Coast League's South Division.
LHP John Rheinecker (3-4) earned the win on Thursday, allowing just 3 ER on 10 H in 6.0 IP. RF Mike Edwards went 2-for-3 with 2 R and 2 RBI (1 HR), and 1B Dan Johnson went 2-for-2 with 2 R and 1 RBI (1 HR) in the game. RHP Alan Benes (2-3) took the loss for Memphis.
The River Cats will begin an eight-game roadtrip (Edmonton, Tacoma) tomorrow in Edmonton. They will return to Raley Field on June 5 to play the Edmonton Trappers.
