Sox Defeat 51's, Finish Homestand 6-2

Colorado Springs Sky Sox News Release


The Colorado Springs Sky Sox defeated the Las Vegas 51's 4-3 in the final game of an 8 game homestand. Sky Sox starting pitcher Brian Tollberg scattered 8 hits over 6.0 innings allowing only 3 runs while walking none and striking out 8. The Sox' offense was lead by Aaron Miles and Anthony Sanders. Miles finished the game 3-4 with a run scored while Sanders went 2-4 with a go-ahead 2 run home run in the 6th inning. Sanders came into the game with only 1 hit in 10 at bats this season since joining the club from extended spring training. The Sox now hit the road for an 8 game trip begining tomorrow in Nashville. Travis Driskill (3-3, 5.02) will take on John VanBenschoten (0-6, 5.07) in the first of 4 games at Greer Stadium in Nashville.
