The Sacramento River Cats (66-42) beat the Iowa Cubs (52-55) 7-1 on Saturday at Raley Field in West Sacramento, Calif. RHP Mike Wood (7-2) earned the win, allowing just 1 ER on 6 H in 7.0 IP. LHP Steve Smyth (3-8) took the loss for Iowa. 2B Jose Flores led the Cats' offense with 3 H. 3B Luis Lopez led the club with 3 RBI, all of which scored on a second-inning home run that sparked a six-run rally.
The River Cats have won their last two games and are now 33-19 in 52 games at Raley Field.
