COLORADO SPRINGS -- Kit Pellow hit a pair of home runs and produced four RBI to help the Colorado Springs Sky Sox edge the Nashville Sounds, 8-6, on Saturday evening in the second game of a four-game series at Sky Sox Stadium.

The loss was Nashville's second in a row and decreased the club's lead in the PCL East Division to 5 1/2 games over New Orleans, which defeated Oklahoma earlier in the evening.

Pellow launched a two-run shot over the center field wall to cap a three-run first frame and added another two-run shot in his next at-bat to give Colorado Springs a 5-2 lead. Garrett Atkins finished with three hits, including a fourth-inning RBI single, and Brent Butler, who hit the game-winning homer in Friday's contest, capped the scoring in the seventh with a run-scoring double.

Scott Elarton (2-6), who finished with six strikeouts, picked up the win despite allowing five runs and nine hits in 6 1/3 innings. Brad Clontz struck out two in a scoreless ninth to earn his 24th save for the Sky Sox, who have won back-to-back games after dropping six straight.

Pinch-hitter John Barnes hit an RBI double in the seventh, Rich Thompson added his own run-scoring two-bagger, and J.J. Davis produced his second RBI of the contest to cut the deficit to one run for Nashville before Colorado Springs added another run in the bottom half of the frame.

Davis finished 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI and his 20th stolen base in 21 attempts, Thompson turned in a 3-for-5 outing, and Tike Redman swiped his PCL-leading 41st steal and legged out his team-leading seventh triple (team-record 42nd in a Sounds uniform) in the contest.

Matt Bruback (6-9), who was acquired from the Chicago Cubs as part of a trade for Kenny Lofton and Aramis Ramirez, surrendered six runs and eight hits in four innings to suffer the loss in his debut for the Sounds.

The teams meet in game three of the four-game set at 7:05 p.m. CDT on Sunday evening. Nashville sends southpaw Dave Williams (4-2, 2.40) to the hill to face Colorado Springs left-hander Randy Flores (7-6, 4.16).
