Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

Sacramento, CA - The Albuquerque Isotopes were poised to even up a six-game series against Sacramento on Friday night. The visitors plated five runs in the first three frames to jump out to a big early lead, but the hosts kept clawing back. The River Cats scored six unanswered runs, then after a brief tie, went ahead for good with a solo homer by Jason Krizan in the seventh inning. Krizan's blast was the decisive blow in a 7-6 victory over the Isotopes, who have lost three straight ballgames.

Albuquerque (40-48) jumped on Sacramento starter Sean Hjelle immediately, scoring three runs in the first, all with two outs. Carlos Pérez delivered an RBI single before Alan Trejo brought him home with a double. Two batters later, Coco Montes capped the big frame with an RBI single.

Pérez launched a solo homer to left to lead off the third, before Jimmy Herron picked up his first career Triple-A RBI with a single to make it 5-0.

The River Cats (40-48) began their comeback in the home third when Willie Calhoun lined a two-run double off Albuquerque starter Ryan Feltner.

Sacramento scored one apiece in the fourth and fifth, with Calhoun's RBI single ending Feltner's evening after 4.2 frames and four runs allowed.

With J.D. Hammer on the mound in the sixth, Heliot Ramos tied the game with an RBI single, then Jason Vosler drew a bases-loaded walk to put the River Cats in front, 6-5.

The Isotopes quickly rallied as Trejo blooped a one-out double in the seventh, before eventually coming across the plate on a two-out wild pitch.

Albuquerque's tie was short lived. Jason Krizan launched a solo homer off Julian Fernández in the seventh for what turned out to be the game-winning tally.
