Sacramento River Cats News Release

West Sacramento, Calif. - Three RBIs by left fielder Willie Calhoun, and a go-ahead solo homer by first baseman Jason Krizan powered the Sacramento River Cats (40-48) to a 7-6 victory over the Albuquerque Isotopes (40-48) on Friday.

Down 5-0 in the third, Calhoun got Sacramento on the board when he lined a clutch two-out double to left field to plate designated hitter Donovan Walton and right fielder Heliot Ramos.

Sacramento continued its offensive awakening with a run in the fourth and fifth, and two in the sixth to take its first lead. With the bases loaded and one out, Ramos singled home center fielder Ka'ai Tom before an RBI walk by second baseman Jason Vosler made it 6-5.

After the Isotopes tied the game in the seventh, Krizan regained the lead with a lined homer to right field (103.8 MPH exit velocity). Krizan, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles, brought his on-base streak to 13. The 33-year-old is 21-for-49 (.429) with 14 runs, 10 doubles, 10 RBIs, and a 1.190 OPS during the streak.

Right-hander Sean Hjelle struck out two while allowing five runs on two walks and 10 hits over 4.2 innings.

The comeback would not have been possible without the impressive effort by the bullpen. Right-handers Matt Carasiti, Patrick Ruotolo (2-4), and Jeremy Walker combined to allow one run on one hit and two walks with four strikeouts in 4.0 innings, before lefty Joey Marciano got the final out for his sixth save.

Right-hander Raynel Espinal (3-4, 4.99) looks to secure the series win with a victory on Saturday. He'll take on righty Karl Kauffmann (1-0, 0.00) at 6:37 p.m. (PT). Watch Johnny Doskow and Brock Stassi call the game on CW-31, or listen to Greg Wong online at rivercats.com or on the MiLB First Pitch app.

Additional Notes

Rehabbing San Francisco third baseman Evan Longoria played 5.0 innings in the field while going 2-for-3 with a double and a run.

Vosler finished the game 1-for-4 with an RBI and a walk, extending his team-high hitting streak to 11 games. He is 15-for-43 (.349) with 10 runs, two doubles, five home runs, 14 RBIs, and a 1.195 OPS over that span.

Tom had a solid day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and a run.
