VIVE LA JP: JP France enters his Saturday start third in the PCL with 90 strikeouts and sixth with a 4.67 ERA. His 11.76 strikeouts-per-nine-innings is second-best of Triple A pitchers (min. 70 IP).France was named the Space Cowboys June Player of the Month, leading the Pacific Coast League in strikeouts (63), finishing third in WHIP (0.97), fifth in ERA (2.92) and eighth in opponent's batting average (.220) during the month.

ENCREDIBLE: Enmanuel Valdez had his seven-game RBI streak snapped at seven games Saturday. It's tied for the second longest RBI streak in the Pacific Coast League this season. Valdez has hit .406 (13x32) with seven doubles, a home run and nine RBI over his last eight games. He leads all Astros minor leaguers with 19 total home runs and 71 RBI. Valdez is tied for fifth of all MiLB players (min. 200 PA) with a .447 weighted on-base average (wOBA). He became the third player in Sugar Land franchise history with a three-homer game on 6/15 in Round Rock, hitting three solo homers in the Space Cowboys win. The other two players to accomplish the feat were Jake Meyers (6/20/21, at El Paso) and Jeremy Peña (9/21/21, vs. Albuquerque).

HEADED TO HOLLYWOOD: Space Cowboys RHP Hunter Brown and C Yainer Diaz are set to represent the Houston Astros on Saturday in the 2022 All-Star Futures Game at Dodger Stadium. Brown is rated as the No. 83 prospect in baseball, per MLB.com. Diaz, who was assigned to the Space Cowboys from Double A Corpus Christi on June 20, is ranked as the Astros' No. 13 prospect, per MLB.com., has hit a combined .297 with 14 home runs, 63 RBI and an .847 OPS through 76 games. Of all MiLB catchers with at least 300 plate appearances, Diaz is third with a .297 batting average.
