Sacramento River Cats News Release
West Sacramento, Calif. - The Round Rock Express scored 5 runs in the top of the eighth inning to erase a 3-1 deficit and defeat the Sacramento River Cats, 5-3, at Raley Field on Thursday night. All five runs were a result of 3 errors by River Cats second baseman Andrew Beattie and were unearned for pitcher Britt Reames. The Cats offense was shut down by a stellar performance by the Round Rock bullpen (Travis Driskill and Scott Strickland), who retired the final 9 Sacramento batters for the victory. Reames took the loss, despite not allowing a single earned run and the River Cats fall to 67-52 on the season. The Cats begin a 4-game set with the Fresno Grizzlies on Friday, as RHP Seth Etherton (7-5, 2.73) takes the mound for the Cats against a starting pitcher TBD for Fresno.
