
River Cats earn split with Rainiers with 6-2 victory

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. â The Sacramento River Cats (49-31) beat the Tacoma Rainiers (43-33) by a score of 6-2 on Tuesday at Raley Field. With the win, Sacramento avoided its second losing series of the season.
LHP John Rheinecker (7-4) earned the win, allowing 2 ER on 8 H in 6.1 IP. The win marked his sixth consecutive win. RHP Jeff Harris (2-3) took the loss for Tacoma. CF Nick Swisher led the River Cats' offense, going 2-for-3 with 1 HR and 2 RBI. 1B Dan Johnson also recorded 2 RBI, both scoring on a seventh-inning triple to right field.
The River Cats will have tomorrow off, then the club will begin a three-game homestand against the Tucson Sidewinders on Thursday (7:05 pm) at Raley Field.
